I recently had a photo shoot at a great little boutique in Albuquerque called 2 Time Couture. I finally got a chance to post some of the images for you guys to see. I had a great time shopping while I was shooting (sorry, I couldn't help it!) and these ladies were so much fun!

365 Project: Day 100

I woke up this morning to find my car encased in a block of ice. The doors were even frozen shut. I'm looking out the window at it right now. I don't want to go outside in this mess. I hate winter, I hate being cold, I hate snow, and I hate scraping the ice off of my car. I can't wait until Spring.

This is Day 100 of my 365 project and I feel like I have just barely made it. I have been so incredibly busy and exhausted lately that this project has sadly started to fall through the cracks. There are just not enough hours in the day to get everything finished and eat and be social and sleep and maybe even shower once in a while. However, I love this project and I am going to try my hardest to finish it. I may not be able to take a picture every single day, but I will take 365 pictures by the end of it.
It amazes me the response I get when I'm not posting every day. I get emails, comments, I'll randomly run into people I know who ask me why they haven't seen a new entry lately. I had no idea that people were really paying attention to what I was doing. But, I must admit, I miss it too. I promise I will try harder.

He loves me...

...he loves me not.

I love flowers. Even when they're dying, they still manage to be beautiful.
New print now available in my Etsy shop.

Tickled Pink

As far as rose bushes go, I think this one is my favorite. Its older than I am. This rose bush and I have a history together. I grew up admiring the beauty of its blooms. My grandmother would clip them off and remove all the thorns for me. She'd even wrap the stems in a wet paper towel for me to take them home.

All the sweetness of these roses is now available in my Tickled Pink print.

365 Project: Day 25

This is the front porch of my grandparents' house. I told you their house was mostly pink.

I couldn't properly document my memories of this house without including the front porch. This bench has been there, and been pink, for as long as I can remember. We have taken countless family photos sitting on it.

There used to be Azalea bushes in the flower beds. I would pick the bright pink flowers and wear them in my hair. They pulled those bushes out several years ago though when they became too much trouble. Now there is only the Monkey Grass. Wind chimes have always been a part of the decor of this house. There are several in the apple tree in the back yard. My Granddaddy put them out to scare the birds away from eating the apples. To this day, and probably for the rest of my life, the sound of wind chimes on a breeze reminds me of standing in this yard.

Go Van Go!

I think it really takes a special kind of dedication to art to paint your car like this.  It is so great!  John and I saw this van parked in front of a row of art galleries on our road trip.  A photo had to be taken!

I wish I had the guts to drive a car this awesome.

Brothers and Sisters

There is nothing more special than the relationship between a brother and a sister.  My mom always said that she wanted to have a boy first so I would have an older brother to protect me.  Unfortunately I was the oldest and she ended up with two girls instead! But, I think I do a pretty good job of looking out for my little sister.  Although, I am currently trying to convince her to jump out of a plane with me next month...

This little girl is lucky to have an older brother who adores her.  I recently had the opportunity to photograph them both at their beautiful home.

Even though she was getting sleepy, her facial expressions came to life when her mom turned on the musical mobile above her bed.  She was completely captivated by the little animals.
There is a great rope swing in their front yard!  He was just like a little Tarzan.

Fairy Tales

Alice in Wonderland just happens to be one of my all time favorite children's books.  It has fantasy, adventure, imagination, interesting characters, and, my favorite part, a rebellious young lady who's curiosity seems to get her into trouble everywhere she goes.
When you think about it, the entire story is completely crazy!  I can't imagine what Lewis Carroll was thinking when he came up with this twisted tale.
Tim Burton is directing a new Alice in Wonderland movie that is due out in 2010.  There is no better person to direct this wacky story than Tim Burton.  I think it is going to be amazing and I really hope that I'm not disappointed.

Daniel Pla.Estilismo created these awesome Alice in Wonderland inspired images for a Spanish magazine called Ragazza.

I love the rich jewel tones and how the story is interpreted through simple props.  Not to mention the gorgeous clothes!  The pink dress (above) by Paule Ka is especially lovely.

Road Trip!

New Print Available!
I came across this pink-striped building when John and I were on a mini-road trip up the California coast.  Isn't it the cutest? Whenever I finally buy a house, I want to paint it exactly like this!

Speaking of road trips, I am planning (and I use that term loosely) a little New Year's road trip around northern California next week. I want to see Redwoods, lighthouses, beautiful coastlines, the whole sha-bang!  If anyone has suggestions for interesting places to stop, please let me know.  I am open to any and all suggestions.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Off the Beaten Path - New Fine Art Prints Available!

I hope everyone is having a splendid Monday!  I am counting down the days until my Christmas vacation.  I can't wait to sleep in, open presents, eat a delicious meal (that I am preparing, by the way), and watch A Christmas Story for a full 24 hours!

There is a new addition to my Etsy shop today. I took this image while standing on the edge of a pecan orchard at the peak of winter.  My fingers were so cold I could barely even push the button.

I could wander through these winter-worn trees all day.

A Little Flower

The day after I photographed Samson and Sedona, I got the chance to photograph their little sister also!

She showed up with a flower in her hair and in a fabulous little pink tutu that her mom got on ETSY.  I'm a sucker for anything pink!

This was the happiest baby I have ever seen.  As long as you were talking to her and making silly faces she was loving it!  There was not one pouty face until we decided to change her outfit.  As soon as her mom took off her tutu she cried.  If I looked that cute in a tutu I wouldn't want to take it off either! But that only lasted a second.  She cheered up not long after and the shoot went on.

There were so many great shots from this photo session! Her face is so expressive when she smiles and laughs and I even caught a few great serious faces in there.

Thanks again!

Pretty in Pink

Not long ago I spent a great afternoon playing with Sadie's big sister.  (Sadie is the Great Dane that I photographed not long ago.)

I loved her pink patchwork dress and UGG boots! I didn't realize that they made UGGs that small!

She started off a little shy, but before I knew it she was running around and having a great time at the playground.

Thank you guys so much for letting me play with you!

I'm starting to work on getting a website soon!  I'm so excited!  I have been working so hard on building my portfolio and creating marketing materials.  I feel like I'm finally making progress in the right direction.

I'll keep everyone updated on the website progress and hopefully it will be ready to go really soon!
