365 Project: Day 130

I have a love affair with water. Pools, rivers, lakes, oceans, I love it all. Floating around on the surface of the water, everything gets calm and quiet for once. There is something about not being able to feel the weight of yourself that is relaxing and freeing in a way that nothing else can be.

Its nice to be weightless sometimes.

365 Project: Day 125

I'm feeling a little directionless lately. I need a vacation for sure. Its time to recharge. I need to go somewhere and clear my head, gain a little perspective and re-prioritize. I'm finding myself caught up in the stupid little things and I'm losing sight of what is important to me.

My head feels cloudy. It happens from time to time. I think that's part of why I move around so often. The process of discovering a new place rejuvenates me mentally. It sparks my creativity and reminds me just how big, incredible and surprising this world is.
Just the idea that summer is here is starting to bring me back to life. I wilt in winter. I hibernate. When the warm weather returns I feel myself getting excited for every single day. Here's to a beautiful, amazing and inspiring summer.

365 Project: Day 122

Summer is by FAR my favorite time of year. I worship the sun. Although I do wear sunscreen everyday...even in the winter. During the Summer the days are longer, the nights are all warm and fuzzy, I don't have to wear shoes, I can go swimming and camping, BBQ, 4th of July, fireworks, etc. There are too many good things about summer to list.
I was able to sit outside this morning and enjoy my breakfast of coffee and cinnamon toast before the wind picked up. Its so nice to take a few minutes to enjoy the morning. Of course, I had been up since 6:52 am and had already gotten a good amount of work done before I decided to enjoy my morning around 9:30 am. At least I made an effort to take a second for myself today. I was proud of myself for that.

365 Project: Day 121

My sister and I drove down to our parents' house this weekend to spend Mother's Day with our mother and grandmother. It was so nice outside and my car was filthy so I decided to wash it the old fashioned way. No motorized brushes. No high pressure sprayer. Just me, bucket of soapy water, and the hose. Just being outside in the hot sun, wet driveway under my bare feet, radio playing classic rock in the garage...it started to feel like summer.

365 Project: Day 120

It was such a nice day outside today. It was warm, sunny, and (for once) not windy. I'm so happy that its almost summer. I wait all year for summer. I also found the biggest Dandelion I've ever seen today. It was a good day.

365 Project: Day 96

I can't WAIT for summer. I'm going stir crazy from spending so much time inside. Winter is not my favorite season at all. Its cold, dry, windy, it snows, the days are shorter, everything turns all brown and twiggy. Honestly, I hate it. It would be fine with me if we skipped right from Fall to Spring without even a single snowflake. I'm just dreaming of a summer day, or better yet, a summer night.

I want to go outside...without a jacket. I want to sit in my house with all the windows open. I want to go for walks at night in a tank top and flip flops. I want to go swimming. I want to lay on the beach with the hot breeze blowing in my hair. I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. I want a sno cone. I want the smell of blooming flowers. I want to be bare foot without frozen toes.

But, its still only January. I'll just have to hibernate in my sweaters and jackets for a little longer. *sigh*

Summer Daydream

As I walked outside into the first crisp day of Autumn today, I was reminded just how quickly the summer days have passed us by. As a tribute to the end of summer I have added my Summer Daydream print to my Etsy shop.

This summer I:

* Moved back to New Mexico
* Got to spend more time with my family
* Went swimming
* Spent lazy days laying on Crystal Beach listening to the waves
* Got a great tan
* Made SO many amazing new friends
* Went camping
* Added new items to my Etsy shop
* Took tons of new pictures
* Went to Las Vegas for the first time and had a blast!
* Rediscovered my love for the desert
* Smiled and laughed more than I have in a long time

Au revoir Summer. Until next year.
